Southern Rangitikei Veterinary Services (SRVS Ltd) is a contract Veterinary practice, established in 1980 to serve the greater Rangitikei region.

Our Veterinary staff have the experience and skill to provide medical care for a wide range of animal species including:

With clinics in both Bulls and Marton, we can undertake a number of in-practice services, allowing for faster, more accurate care. We have surgical facilities for treatment of large and small animals, a pet hospital ward for overnight care of small animals, x-ray, endoscopy and ultrasound equipment, plus a state-of-the-art equine treatment & surgical facility. Our Veterinarians are also available for on-farm or residential visits.

Beef Cattle

SRVS offers the following services for beef cattle, designed to maximize productivity at all life stages.

General medicine & surgery

  • Preventative medicine
  • Veterinary care for ill-thrift, unwell or injured animals
  • Lameness workups - determining and treating base causes of lameness
  • Drenching

  • Nutrition advice

Animal health advisory 
A customised animal health programme for your farm, designed to ensure optimal herd health. It can include focus on one or more areas, including reproduction, drenching, nutrition & feeding advice, trace elements & mineral supplementation and vaccination programme.

Reproductive Services

  • Calving
  • Ultrasound
  • Bull suitability testing - including Bull Soundness Examinations, basic semen evaluation and physical examinations.

Laboratory services 
We use a number of outside reference labs for diagnostic work on animal and feed analysis. We also offer an increasing range of in-house diagnostics, which include faecal egg count tests, blood tests, facial eczema spore count monitoring and testing for nitrate levels in feeds

Specialist referrals
We are connected to a network of specialists in different areas of animal health across the region and throughout New Zealand. In cases where an animal requires specialist attention, we can provide referrals to ensure the animal receives the best possible care.
